Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a perennial shrub that is soft & tender, 14 to 30 inches tall. The leaves are dull green in color that is 4 to 5 inches long. Flowers are bell shaped, green & small. The fruits of this shrub appears orange-red in color when ripened. Not only roots of this herb is used for preparation of medicines but fruits, seeds, & leaves also. Ashwagandha is commonly found in India, also named as Winter Cherry or Poison gooseberry in English.
